From Dock to Door: How Our Fish Fillets Stay Fresh

At Iceland Catch, freshness isn’t just a goal. It’s a promise.

A Better Way to Fish

Our fishermen use long lines, a traditional, more sustainable method that’s better for the ocean, and for the fish. It takes time. It takes patience. But it's worth it. Each line is hauled in by hand, just as it has been for generations. No massive nets, no shortcuts. Just experience, respect for the sea, and a commitment to quality.

From Ocean to Shore: Handled With Care

Once the fish are brought back to shore, they’re transported to the town of Reykjanesbær. There, in our modern facility, something unique happens: technology and tradition meet.

Each fillet is hand-cut by skilled workers. These are real people who know fish, working with precision and care to make sure each cut is perfect. This level of attention makes a difference you can taste.

Sealed for Freshness, Portioned for You

After the fillets are expertly prepared, they’re portioned using advanced equipment that ensures each piece is just the right size. Then comes the most important step for preserving that just-caught taste: flash freezing.

Less than a day out of the water, every fillet is flash frozen and vacuum sealed to lock in peak freshness. That means when you open a pack of Iceland Catch fish, you're experiencing the same flavor and quality as the moment it left the sea.
